Wedding Music Overview

Welcome to the SMT Music Wedding portion of our website. Here you will find soundbites of our various ensembles, play-list, prices, music checklist and order form.

The soundbites start with music you would use to seat the grandparents and/or parents. The pieces are listed by the usual order of the wedding. i.e. seating of the parents followed by maids and then bride, opt. candle lighting and recessional. You, of course, can mix and match to suit your preference. For example, # 42 Rondeau by Mouret is listed as a recessional, but we also use it to bring in the groomsmen sometimes. I can help you with choosing selections if you need assistance.

Most of the sound bites have string quartet, with some selections with trumpet.The trumpet is optional and the quartet can do the same selections with or without the trumpet. Typically the musicians begin to play “prelude music” 1/2 hr. before the wedding as the guests arrive.* (Musicians will arrive 30 – 60 min. before the wedding depending on which package you choose.) We also have vocalists. There are many nice vocal pieces starting with # 19 and also check out those under “Candle Lighting”.

We often use a female vocalist and we also have a wonderful male vocalist available. Some brides like to have a duet, with both singers. Some vocal selections require piano, which we have and some can be done without voice, such as Only Time and Ave Maria, for example.

We also have a trio – violin, flute and cello or can be two violins and a cello. The trio can do most of the quartet selections. There is also the option of adding harp to either the trio or quartet for an extra fee. (example # 8 and # 9.) Once you decide you would like to “book” us for your wedding you would call or email me to let me know and I will then send you a contract and you would return that signed with a deposit check made to SMT Music. It is most helpful to me if you would fill out and send me the order form that would contain most of information I will need. But, I understand at the preliminary stage you may just want to retain our services but may not have all the information at the time. That is fine. I only have to have a date and time and if possible the location of the wedding in order to send you a contract. We can get the other information at a later time.
